General Ledger Accountant – Medical Devices

This position is limited to BBBEE candidates due to BEE requirements.

Location: Johannesburg

Position Overview:

An international medical device manufacturing concern is seeking to appoint a proficient General Ledger Accountant.

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible to manage the credit control function for Africa. Establishes and maintains the general accounting reporting and practices for the organization. Compiles and analyses financial information to prepare and/or review necessary journal entries for properly stated ledgers and financial statements in accordance with regulations (e.g., GAAP), company policy and internal controls. Performs bookkeeping and account management duties including credit collection, accounts payable, and cost accounting.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience Required:

• A completed Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years of related work experience in a multinational working environment
• 3 Years of experience in Credit Collection and AR Accounting
• Big 4 experience is an advantage
• SAP experience essential
• Microsoft Excel Advanced User
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Ability to work in an international environment
