SUMMARY:
A luxury tented safari lodge set on a vast reserve along a river in Mpumalanga is searching for an experienced and dynamic GENERAL MANAGER to lead their operation.

POSITION INFO:
This is an established, high-end property offering game drives, fine dining, spa treatments and a small collection of premium suites, so the ideal candidate will be someone who can run a multi-department operation to five-star standard while keeping a close eye on guest experience and the bottom line. Core Criteria: Minimum 5 years' experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager within a luxury lodge or high-end hospitality environment Proven track record managing multi-department operations (F&B, housekeeping, guiding, spa, maintenance) Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control and revenue management Solid understanding of maintenance requirements in a remote lodge setting Excellent staff leadership, training and performance management skills High standards of guest relations and the ability to resolve issues calmly and professionally Comfortable living and working in a remote, bush environment Strong administrative and reporting ability Core Responsibilities: Oversee the full day-to-day operation of the lodge across all departments Manage and mentor heads of department, holding the team to five-star standards Drive guest satisfaction, handling feedback and resolving concerns directly Manage budgets, control costs and report on financial performance Coordinate maintenance needs and liaise with ownership on capital requirements Oversee stock control and procurement across the operation Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards Liaise with management and ownership on strategic and operational matters Support marketing and revenue initiatives where required On Offer: Live-in position Salary negotiable, dependent on experience
