General Manager Couple

SUMMARY:
General Management Couple will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the 5-star game lodge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of service and hospitality. The couple will work closely together to manage various aspects of the lodge, including but not limited to:

1. Hospitality Management:

• Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by delivering personalized service and attention to detail.
• Oversee all guest interactions, including reservations, check-ins, and concierge services.
• Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.

1. Operations Management:

• Supervise day-to-day lodge operations, including housekeeping, maintenance, and security.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
• Manage inventory and procurement to ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.

1. Staff Management:

• Recruit, train, and supervise lodge staff, including front-of-house, housekeeping, and kitchen teams.
• Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration among staff members.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching as needed.

1. Financial Management:

• Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Monitor expenses and revenue streams to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement strategies to increase revenue and reduce operational costs where possible.

1. Guest Activities and Experiences:

• Coordinate and oversee guest activities, such as game drives, bush walks, and cultural experiences.
• Work with the activities team to develop new and exciting guest experiences that showcase the natural beauty and wildlife of the region.
• Ensure all activities adhere to safety regulations and environmental sustainability practices.

POSITION INFO:

• 5 years minimum experience in LODGE OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT position
• Matric
• Good command of the English language
• Strong management couple who excel in Front of House, F&B, Lodge Administration & Operations Management
• Well-spoken and presentable
• Be guest-centric ensuring great experiences
• Innovative and creative - To drive hospitality at the lodge to new levels
• Must be proven & experienced in managing, training, cost control and have strong administrative skills
• Relationship building, with staff, guests, the community, the industry (agents and other lodges)
• Strong leader who has been in charge of employees before
• Formal hospitality degree/diploma preferable
• Lateral thinking ability
• Initiative
• Must be able to cope under pressure to meet guests needs
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with staff and guests
• Attention to detail
• Diligence and self-motivation to meet deadlines
• Willingness/ability to share information and teach and inspire others
• Computer and financial skill

• Plan and manage lodge operations effectively
• Drive the broader goals of the group as required by Head Office
• Knowledge of OPERA Systems required, or similar PMS system
• Knowledge of Game Reserve Operations required
• Computer literate
• Able to handle pressure & difficult situations if required
• Able to multitask & deliver as required in accordance with company standards
• Adherence to all company practices
• Leading, training and motivating the team
• Drive the lodge’s quality plan and implement all required standards
