General Manager (Network, Infrastructure & Distribution)

SUMMARY:
Our client is a dynamic technology business that provides access to a diverse portfolio of innovative end-to-end digital media and fintech technology solutions based in Kyalami, Midrand is seeking an experienced and commercially astute General Manager (Network, Infrastructure & Distribution) to lead, operate and grow the business as a strategic business unit within the business.
 
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of senior leadership within the ICT, telecommunications, connectivity, managed services, cloud, digital infrastructure or media technology sectors. Experience working with or managing relationships across telecommunications providers, fibre and connectivity providers, satellite, LEO and uplink providers, streaming and CDN providers, cloud service providers, systems integration partners and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will be highly advantageous.

POSITION INFO:
In order to be considered the following is required: Degree or equivalent qualification in Project Management 8-10 years' experience in managed services, contribution technology, connectivity, digital delivery, production technology or related industries 5 years in the leadership position Skills required: Strategy Commercial Acumen SLA Development and Governance Product Definition and Catalogue Management Technical literacy (networking, infrastructure, connectivity, cloud) Live Broadcast Sales Budgeting and Financial Management Project Management Vendor & Contract Management Satelitte, LEO Bonded Sims Responsibilities: Business Leadership and Growth: Develop and execute the strategic growth plan for the business Identify new business opportunities, partnerships and revenue streams Grow the client base across sectors Develop scalable managed service offerings aligned to market demand Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning Business Development and Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors and strategic partners Lead solution discussions with clients to understand operational and technical requirements Develop proposals, business cases, pricing models and service scopes for bespoke live sports connectivity solutions- primary and redundant connectors Represent the business in commercial engagements and industry forums Meet sales targets Maintain C-level relationships with critical service providers Operational and Service Delivery Management: Oversee the delivery of connectivity and managed services across projects and operational environments Ensure services are delivered reliably, efficiently and in accordance with agreed standards Oversee service readiness, deployment planning and operational coordination Ensure effective incident management, escalation and service recovery processes Maintain high service uptime and operational continuity Providing technical direction and oversight across connectivity, infrastructure and solution design Reviewing and approving technical architectures and solution designs before deployment Ensuring technical standards, documentation and best practices are defined and followed including SOPs Overseeing the evaluation and selection of technology platforms, vendors and tools Own and govern SLAs across all managed service offerings, ensuring agreements are defined, documented, communicated and upheld Ensure SLAs are established with all key service providers and clients, and that performance against these is regularly reviewed and reported Drive accountability for SLA breaches, including root cause analysis, corrective action and client communication where required Define and maintain the client-facing product catalogue, ensuring offerings are clearly scoped, priced and fit for market Project Management and Implementation: Oversee multiple concurrent technical and operational projects Coordinate internal teams, third-party vendors and service providers Monitor project risks, dependencies and resource requirements Ensure clear communication and reporting across stakeholders People Management: Foster unity and collaboration across a diverse workforce including full-time staff, freelancers and consultants Create an environment where all contributors feel valued, informed and motivated to deliver their best work Encourage open communication, shared accountability and team-wide resilience Address interpersonal or team dynamics proactively and constructively Support career growth and development across key team members Ensure HR procedures and intervention are well managed This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic and commercially astute leader to play a key role in shaping the future of a growing technology business, driving innovation and delivering industry-leading managed services within a progressive and entrepreneurial environment.
