SUMMARY:
An established property management group is seeking a Financial Accountant to take ownership of core accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple property portfolios. This role is ideal for a detail-driven finance professional with strong month-end, reporting, and reconciliation experience within a high-volume property or multi-entity environment.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a leading South African property management and real estate services group with a national footprint across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape. The organisation manages large residential, commercial, and mixed-use property portfolios and is supported by centralised finance and reporting structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain general ledger accounts across multiple property portfolios
• Perform full month-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and adjustments
• Prepare and reconcile trial balances and balance sheet accounts
• Conduct detailed bank, debtor, creditor, and municipal account reconciliations
• Reconcile tenant billing, rental income, and utility recoveries to the general ledger
• Assist with financial reporting packs, management accounts, and variance analysis
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes across portfolios
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
• Resolve financial discrepancies and support audit queries
• Liaise with internal teams (leasing, property management, and credit control) to ensure financial accuracy

• BCom Accounting or equivalent finance qualification
• 3–5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role (property industry preferred)
• Strong experience in month-end accounting, reconciliations, and journal processing
• Exposure to property management accounting, municipal billing, or multi-entity environments advantageous
• Solid understanding of debtors, creditors, and general ledger accounting
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with financial systems (MDA or similar advantageous)
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Ability to manage multiple portfolios and meet strict reporting deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across operational and finance teams
