Geometric Design Enigineer

SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a professionally registered Roads Engineer to join a well-established consulting engineering environment delivering major transportation and infrastructure projects.
 
This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong project exposure who enjoys technical leadership, project delivery, and client engagement within a collaborative engineering team.

Job Description:

• Geometric design and rehabilitation of national, provincial, and municipal road infrastructure
• Lead design delivery on large-scale projects
• Preparation and review of engineering drawings, reports, specifications, and tender documentation
• Contract administration and construction monitoring in accordance with SANS standards
• Coordination with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and contractors
• Technical oversight, mentoring of junior engineers, and quality assurance of design outputs
• Project planning, budgeting, and programme management
• Stakeholder liaison and client relationship management

• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in roads and transportation engineering
• Proven experience working on Roads projects is essential
• Strong background in geometric road design and pavement engineering
• Experience with design standards, approvals, and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or relevant road design software
• Sound knowledge of South African road design standards and specifications
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills

• BTech / BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering
• PR Eng registration with ECSA (essential)
