Geometric Roads Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
Here is an opportunity for an experienced Geometrics Design Engineer to join a reputable consulting company. As a Senior Technical consultant, you will work on exciting Geometric Roads and Highways Projects in Southern Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Project management and working with other engineering disciplines on projects

Technical input from initial assessment through technical and economic feasibility to design development and construction implementation to project close

Conduct investigations, surveys, design, engineering calculations and estimates for Highways projects

Responsible for reviewing overall project design and providing technical and design improvements

Preparation of cost estimates for working hours on project design

Keeping up to date with highways and geometrics advances

Leading a team to execute geometrics design tasks as part of project development

Skills & Experience:

Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Technical report writing abilities

Proven management and interpersonal skills

Excellent project management capabilities

Experience working with SANRAL projects

Experience working on large, international roads projects

Experience working with Autodesk Suite

Must have experience with Bently design suite software – MicroStation, OpenRoads, Open Flows, ProjectWise

Competency in modelling Highways and civil engineering design of road networks, site earthworks, drainage

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Qualification:

BSc / BEng Civil Engineering

Professional engineering registration with ECSA

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
