SUMMARY:
Graduate Engineer / Technologist – Urban Infrastructure Division
 
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer / Technologist to join our growing and collaborative Urban Infrastructure Division. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the planning, design and implementation of municipal water, wastewater and civil infrastructure projects across South Africa and internationally.
You will join a dynamic and supportive team that values collaboration, mentorship and hands-on learning. Graduates are given the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and specialists, contribute to real projects from an early stage, and develop practical technical skills in a team environment that encourages growth, knowledge sharing and professional development.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and design of bulk water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Undertake engineering calculations for pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs and associated civil works.
• Assist with water and wastewater treatment works projects.
• Support master planning, capacity assessments and hydraulic modelling.
• Assist with civil design including earthworks, stormwater, site grading, platforms and associated municipal services.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, quantities and tender documentation.
• Participate in site inspections, construction monitoring and project meetings.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams and support senior engineers with project delivery.
• Contribute positively to a growing team through effective communication, knowledge sharing and a willingness to assist across projects.

• BSc (Eng), BEng, BTech or equivalent recognised qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Eligible for registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineer or Candidate Engineering Technologist.
• 0–2 years’ post-graduate experience.
• Interest in water, wastewater and urban infrastructure engineering.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and hydraulic modelling software will be advantageous.
• Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as a team player within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Willingness to learn, contribute and develop towards professional registration.
• Valid driver’s licence would be advantageous.
