Unique, wildlife-focused community located within the Greater Kruger conservation area are looking for a GRADUATE FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a motivated graduate with a strong interest in finance, accounting, and administration to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the reserve, learning from experienced professionals and contributing to our conservation-driven business. Because this role is based on-site in a remote environment, a valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are essential for accessibility and occasional travel requirements.
Candidate requirements:
- Recently completed or final-year Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial record-keeping
- Good computer literacy, especially Excel and Word
- Interest in learning accounting software (experience with Xero is an advantage)
- Valid South African driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Willingness to live and work in a remote, nature-based environment
- Reliable, honest, and eager to learn
- Enjoys problem-solving and working independently when needed
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Appreciates the outdoors and conservation-focused work environments
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with bookkeeping and daily financial updates
- Maintain accurate daily bookkeeping and cashbook updates
- Supporting monthly reconciliations and assisting with management reports
- Helping prepare payroll information and statutory submissions (VAT, UIF, PAYE)
- Reconcile creditor accounts, monitor income vs. budget, and control petty cash
- Perform monthly reconciliations and assist with management accounts preparation
- Monitor member levy invoicing, payments, and collections
- Assisting with budget tracking and financial reporting
- Helping manage member levy invoicing, payments, and records
- Respond professionally to member queries (calls and emails)
- Update member files and manage share sales documentation
- Administering shop sales and stock control processes
- Assisting with audit preparation and compliance reporting
- Supporting the General Manager and Financial Director with ad-hoc financial or administrative projects
