Group Accountant

SUMMARY:
Lexdan Select is assisting a manufacturing company with their search for a group financial accountant.
This role is based in Pinetown, Durban.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to Exco discussions/decision-making as a trusted financial leader and provide financial insight to guide group strategy, business development, and operational execution.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the Group.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in compliance with IFRS.
• Ensure compliance with SARS requirements (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, Provisional Tax).
• Oversee statutory audit processes, manage relationships with external auditors, and implement audit recommendations.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger and oversee financial processes at each operating company.
• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles for the Group.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning, investment evaluation, and project costing.
• Oversee financial systems (Pastel Partner / Sage / other) and ensure integration with operational systems.
• Build, mentor, and lead the finance team across sites, ensuring a culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence.

• Degree in Accounting/Finance (CA(SA) or equivalent qualification preferred).
• Minimum 7–10 years’ progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a group accounting or senior finance leadership role (manufacturing environment preferred).
• IFRS expertise, strong knowledge of SARS compliance, experience in group consolidations and intercompany reconciliations, advanced Excel and ERP/Accounting system proficiency (Pastel Partner / Sage).
