Group Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing group of companies with a proven track record of expansion through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Operating across multiple entities, the organisation requires a technically strong and commercially astute Group Accountant CA(SA) to partner closely with the Group CFO and support the continued evolution of the finance function. This role is ideally suited to a high-performing finance professional with experience in a listed or large multi-entity environment, strong IFRS expertise, and exposure to consolidations, treasury, and stakeholder reporting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in group reporting, budgeting, audit management, banking relationships, acquisition activities, and financial decision-making. POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Prepare and review monthly, interim, and annual group consolidations across multiple entities. Compile and analyse monthly management accounts and reporting packs for executive management and the Board. Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS requirements. Coordinate and manage the external audit process, liaising with auditors and subsidiary finance teams. Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis. Prepare financial commentary and performance insights for the Group CFO. Manage the collection and roll-up of financial information from subsidiary companies. Assist with group treasury activities, including cash management, foreign exchange exposure, and banking relationships. Prepare covenant calculations, bank reports, and funding-related presentations. Support mergers, acquisitions, due diligence exercises, and post-acquisition integration projects. Monitor financial controls, identify business risks, and recommend appropriate solutions. Collaborate with finance teams across the group to achieve consistency, best practice, and reporting accuracy. Assist with board packs, audit committee reporting, and other strategic financial presentations. Drive process improvements and contribute to ongoing finance transformation initiatives.
