Group Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client operating within the Non-Profit Organisation is currently looking to appoint someone to the Group Accountant vacancy within their Johannesburg North based Finance team. Essentially, the ideal candidate for this position is a suitably qualified candidate with Cost & Management Accounting experience involving Non-Profit Organisations. POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Honours degree in Accounting and/or relevant equivalent
• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) designation and/or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) designation
• Minimum 5 years’ previous working experience involving Non-Profit Organisations/Non-Governmental Organisations within a similar Group Financial Accountant and/or Cost & Management Accountant position
• Advanced Sage Pastel and Microsoft Excel software skills

Job description & Skills:

• Overseeing the management and appropriate implementation of the information and/or data management system for accounting policies and procedures
• Facilitating the establishment and/or implementation of internal systems and controls for the integration of relevant Finance functions with all departments
• Planning and maintain project budgeting
• Engaging with the relevant administrative staff and/or technical staff to optimise the efficiency of the Group

Assisting the company reporting specialists with the implementation of new reporting and/or planning applications

• Facilitating software support according to the client and/or internal reporting specialists’ requirements
• Developing Microsoft Excel models and/or reports that make use of external data from scratch
• Configuring and implementing a new application and facilitating the development of report templates
• Compiling financial reports, that is management accounts, budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and statistical reports
• Providing data analysis and/or compiling financial reports to be presented to management
