JOB SUMMARY:
Our Client is looking for a strong analytical Group Accountant to join their Finance Department at their Head Office in Cape Town. Reporting to the CFO, this role is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in finance and enhance your industry knowledge in retail. The Group Accountant is responsible for reporting the group results of all the various divisions of one of the leading Sport and Recreational Retailers in South Africa.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

Drafting of Annual Financial Statements under IFRS
Coordinating the annual external audit
Consolidating and reporting monthly results for the group
Preparation information required for statutory returns (VAT, Annual returns, and Income tax returns)
Cash management and cashflow forecasting
Assisting with ad hoc M&A transactions
Assisting with ad hoc finance requests

Skills & Requirements:

Recently qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
Retail experience advantageous
High ethical and integrity standards
Strong computer literacy (Advanced Excel, macros, V-Lookups & H-Lookups)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail - meticulous & accuracy
Eager to learn all areas of the business
