POSITION INFO:

Position Purpose:

The Group Chief Enterprise Architect is responsible for the Enterprise Strategy and Architecture. The responsibility includes providing leadership and direction as well as develops, maintains and leverages the Enterprise Strategy and Architecture (EA) across the organisation to support the organisation’s strategy and focus on business outcomes. The key objective of Strategy and Enterprise Architecture is to translate the organisation’s vision and strategy into effective business capabilities and services. The intent of Strategy and Enterprise Architecture is to provide direction and develop frameworks to guide strategic change initiatives and projects to ensure the reliability, interoperability and sustainability of business capability in accordance with the organisation’s strategy. It also includes the development of a group IT Strategy.

It includes:

• A recognition that EA processes and methodologies can be used to help the business make better decisions and deliver strategic planning;
• A desire to align or integrate IT and business initiatives and investments;
• A need to demonstrate business impact and value from EA efforts;

Qualifications and Experience:

• Unless the incumbent can demonstrate that he / she has necessary competencies through experience, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Analysis, or a business related study is required;
• Minimum 15 years’ of experience in at least two IT disciplines (such as technical architecture, solution architecture, network management, application development, information analysis, or operations management) in a heterogeneous environment – or 10 years’ of experience in solution architecture, business analysis or business strategic planning;
• Demonstrated track record of leading high-performance teams toward the successful attainment of challenging goals;
• Demonstrated track record of leading high-performance teams towards the successful attainment of challenging goals;
• Additional training in organisation change management highly desirable;

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture;
• Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes;
• Knowledge of the organisation’s business models is a key attribute;
• Understanding the vision, goals and critical success factors, and other performance measures of the organisation in order to ensure that information is made available to support these;
• Familiarity with information management practices;
• Knowledge of and experience with management (theory and practice);
