POSITION INFO:
A leading South African group is looking for a technically strong Group Consolidation & Tax Accountant to join its Group Finance team in Cape Town. This is an ideal opportunity for a CA(SA) with 3-5 years' post-articles experience who has built solid experience in group consolidations, IFRS reporting, statutory reporting and tax, preferably within a listed or complex group environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Group Finance function, supporting the preparation of consolidated financial information, statutory reporting, technical accounting matters and group tax compliance. You will work closely with subsidiaries and Group Finance stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and high-quality financial reporting. Duties: Group Consolidation & Reporting: Prepare Group reporting packs, consolidations, reconciliations, statutory financial statements, audit support and analysis of complex transactions and variances. IFRS & Technical Accounting: Interpret IFRS standards, prepare technical accounting papers and support complex transactions and Group accounting policies. Tax: Review tax calculations and returns, support SARS queries, transfer pricing and Group tax compliance. Budgets & Systems: Support Group budgets and forecasts, maintain reporting systems, improve reporting automation and assist with integrating newly acquired entities. Job Experience & Skills Required: Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12) Bachelor's degree in Accounting Honours \/ CTA CA(SA) qualification is essential. Experience: 3-5 years' post-articles experience. Strong experience in group consolidations and\/or financial reporting. Experience within a listed company or large corporate group. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS. Exposure to tax and tax administration. Experience with complex group structures and intercompany transactions. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict reporting deadlines.
