Group Finance Manager

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Honours degree specialising in and/or relating to Financial Management
• South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) articles completed
• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) designation is highly advantageous
• Minimum 10 years’ working experience within a senior Financial Management position involving consolidations in a company group
• Previous working experience within the Built Environment and/or Consulting Engineering industries is highly advantageous
• Previous working experience involving dealings with the public sector is advantageous
• Advanced Sage Evolution and Microsoft Excel skills are advantageous

Job description & Skills:

• Providing oversight of the Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources departments while managing staff performance
• Maintaining oversight of the Debtors and Creditors functions to provide management that ensures effective and efficient performance
• Ensuring that financial records and financial reports are accurately compiled and efficiently managed in accordance with Sage Evolution and other relevant data management software systems’ requirements
• Overseeing the negotiation and implementation of office leases including the operating leases for telecommunications, printers, and servers
• Overseeing the negotiations with the relevant business-to-business service providers including tech support service providers
• Engaging with the current banking authorities to facilitate relationship management and successful negotiations
• Managing all bank accounts to ensure efficient and effective cash management
• Assuming responsibility for the Group Provident Fund of which currently Funds at Work
• Providing regular reviews of salaries and implementing salaries across and/or in accordance with relating Payroll systems, processes, and procedures
• Monitoring and managing the issuing of Tax Invoices to clients
• Ensuring that payments for salaries, service providers, and suppliers are managed and timeously authorised
• Ensuring compliance with relating legislative and/or regulatory requirements including Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA), and other legislative requirements
• Ensuring that all South African Revenue Service (SARS) queries are resolved including the resolution of all Value Added Tax (VAT), Pay As You Earn (PAYE), and income tax matters
• Assisting with tax planning for the Group auditors
• Preparing the monthly trial balances, balance sheets, and income statements including the consolidated management accounts
• Providing monthly financial reporting for the Management Committee including the Audit and Risk Committee
• Providing oversight and management of the cash flow, income, and expenditure of the Group for management
• Calculating and compiling quotations and pricing for new assignments, contracts, and tenders
• Providing regular oversight and management of the Group Risk Register
• Coordinating the Audit Committee requirements and providing support to ensure that audit services are efficiently and effectively provided, managed, and maintained
• Preforming ad hoc tasks and performing unassigned duties required by shareholders and Management Committee
