SUMMARY:
A high-impact leadership role for a commercially astute Group Financial Manager ready to take full ownership of finance across a complex manufacturing and distribution environment. This is a hands-on, operationally embedded role requiring a strong leader who thrives in a hard factory setting and can drive performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a well-established industrial group with core manufacturing operations on the East Rand and an extensive distribution network across South Africa.

Reporting directly to the Financial Director, the Group Financial Manager will take full responsibility for the end-to-end finance function across the group. This includes oversight of financial operations, compliance, reporting, and strategic financial input to support business growth.

You will lead a team of 7 direct reports and 6 indirect reports, driving accountability, performance, and process optimisation across multiple divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Full financial management of manufacturing operations and national branches
Tax compliance including year-end calculations, VAT, and divisional tax
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable oversight
Treasury and cash flow management
Imports and exports financial processes
Financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Driving automation, efficiencies, and improved financial controls
Partnering with operational leadership to enhance profitability and cost control

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Honours (essential)
Completed articles (advantageous)
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Financial Manager / Group FM leadership role
Proven experience within a manufacturing or hard factory environment (non-negotiable)
Strong leadership experience managing multi-layered teams
Advanced Excel skills (pivots, data modelling essential)
Exposure to automation and process improvement initiatives
Strong understanding of imports/exports and complex operational finance
Commercial mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
