Group Financial Accountant

A leading retailer and manufacturer of home and bathroom ware is currently looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The Group Financial Accountant will report directly to the Group Finance Executive.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational financial support to the concern and the Executive Committee. The successful candidate will also be responsible for driving the financial, and risk management operations on all strategic matters including the development of a financial and operational strategy, ongoing development and monitoring of control systems. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing administrative, financial, risk and compliance requirements for the group as well as maintaining good corporate governance.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• CA (SA)

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 2-3 years’ post article experience in a similar role in the commercial space
• Experience working in a large listed JSE environment
• Experience working in the retail industry is preferred
• Experience working in a high-paced finance environment is preferred
• Working knowledge of group reporting, group consolidation and performance measurement
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Strong analytical skills and orientation to detail
• Proven experience with the development of financial reports, technical requirements analysis, group reporting, and financial statement preparation
• Ability to function in a matrix organization and related structures
• Excellent with financial models and designing models fit for purpose
• Forward thinking and solution driven approaches
