Group Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
We’re on the hunt for a dynamic Group Financial Manager ready to energise the FSP space and drive financial excellence across multiple business units. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead all financial activities, ensuring accurate accounting processes, seamless group reporting, and robust financial controls that power strategic business objectives. You must be a CA(SA) with proven experience in the financial services and insurance sectors, bringing the expertise to complement and elevate financial operations and initiatives.

POSITION INFO:

Strategic Financial Oversight
Provide leadership and direction to finance teams across the group, ensuring high performance and collaboration
Guarantee the accuracy and integrity of consolidated financial statements and related reports
Lead the annual budgeting cycle, forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making
Drive efficiency by enhancing financial systems, processes, and internal controls to minimise risk
Oversee audits, manage related costs, and ensure clean audit outcomes
Optimise allocation and productivity of finance resources to maximise output
Maintain strict monthly reconciliations of control accounts, balance sheets, and income statements, resolving discrepancies promptly
Monitor cash flow and investment activities, approving major transactions when required
Regulatory & Compliance Management
Ensure accurate and timely completion of VAT, income tax, and other statutory submissions
Review and approve all regulatory filings, including FSCA, Prudential Authority, and SARB returns
Oversee the preparation of IFRS-compliant annual financial statements
Coordinate internal and external audit processes, ensuring all requirements are met
Uphold compliance with TCF and POPIA obligations across all financial operations
Stakeholder Engagement & Support
Partner with senior executives and regional leaders to provide strategic financial insights and solutions
Deliver excellent service to internal teams, clients, and brokers through timely, accurate financial support

Skills & Experience:
Lead and develop finance teams within a financial services or short-term insurance environment, ensuring high performance and collaboration
Oversee full financial management processes including budgeting, forecasting, consolidated reporting, and IFRS-compliant financial statements
Ensure regulatory compliance with industry requirements (FSCA, Prudential Authority, SARB, TCF, POPIA) and manage statutory submissions
Apply strong technical expertise in IFRS, financial controls, and risk management to enhance systems and processes
Utilise advanced technology skills in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting packages such as MS Dynamics/Great Plains/Business Central
Deliver strategic financial insights and reports to senior stakeholders, supporting decision-making and business objectives
Demonstrate strong leadership and soft skills including communication, problem-solving, time management, and the ability to work under tight deadlines

Qualification:
Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) – essential requirement
