Group Financial Manager - CA

SUMMARY:
The GFM manages the financial and statutory reporting function of the group, including coordinating and overseeing the finance team in terms of various financial reporting requirements.

POSITION INFO:

This function encompasses externally directed financial reporting to shareholders and Investor Relations as well as internally focused reporting with regards to management reports, the Board and the Audit and Risk Committee. The objectives are the production and consolidation of timeous and accurate management reports, statutory financial statements and reports on the overall consolidated financial results

Duties:

General Ledger:

• Reviews journal entries passed by Financial Managers / Financial Controllers in Broll and Microsoft Dynamics365
• Computes and provides journals, with the assistance of Shareforce, for IFRS 2 amounts for the Group.
• Reviews calculations (and disclosures) relating to inter alia IFRS 2, IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 40, straight line leasing and PV of loans.
• Oversees the Group’s application and implementation of IFRS, inclusive of new and updated standards, ED’s, and interpretations.

Financial Analysis

Reporting

• Designs, plans and co-ordinates the financial reporting function.
• Design and implement a consistent reporting format across the group.
• Attends to all accounting related correspondence from the JSE including proactive monitoring.
• Co-ordinates improvements to AFS disclosures
• Manages and coordinates the submission of the following reports to the CFO for final review.

• Monthly:

o Reviews the consolidated financial results and prepares the financial reporting pack and submits to Exco.

o Reviews CIPC XBRL submissions against signed AFS

• Quarterly 

Compiles the CEO report for board packs.

o Prepares the financial section for the CEO report.

o Prepares Solvency and Liquidity statement on Group level for submission to ARC and board.

• Bi-Annual and Annually:

o Manages and Coordinates the external audit process on a bi-annual basis.

o Review of the interim group consolidated results.

o Prepares the Investment Property sheet.

o Prepares the REIT compliance tests.

o Provide input for SENS announcement, results presentation and integrated report.

o Reviews and provides input into the financial results SENS announcements and results presentations.

o Review the first round of subsidiaries’ Annual Financial Statements and liaise with external auditors for final sign off.

o Provide input and review the  Group Annual Financial Statements

Requirements:

• CA(SA)
• 7 years or more post article experience in a senior financial management role with experience in consolidations, financial reporting and managing a team
• Experience in the porperty or leasing industry would be an advantage
