Group Procurement Manager - Germiston

SUMMARY:
A leading Waste Management Company is seeking the services of a veteran Group Procurement Manager for its operations in Germiston.

POSITION INFO:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Organize, monitor, handle and coordinate procurement activities for Interwaste by effective administration of the procurement function for all materials, equipment, supplies and services, in accordance with delivery schedules, procurement set policies, procedures, guidelines and standards to support timely availability of resources for uninterrupted operations.

RESPONSIBILITES RELATING TO KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

STRATEGIC SKILLS

• Vendor database management across group of companies
• Price and terms negotiations for contracts
• Vendor sourcing requirements across the Group
• Partnering closely with various stakeholders and vendors on identifying continuous improvement opportunities
• Manage, report and maintain procurement BBBEE portfolio across the group
• Mitigating supply risk through effective supply chain management
• Analysis of market trends (must also remain abreast of all technological advancements related to procurement)
• Provide advice to internal clients’ departments on procurement related policies and procedures and best practices regarding purchase activities, tactics and contractual terms
• Arrange, Negotiate and report of Imports
• Arrange financing of assets and other items
• Ensure that related documentation complies with approved policies and standards
• Work with details and proficient in data analysis and result oriented
• Ensuring procurement compliance across the group
• Manage stores with stock holding of + 2 million
• Keep track of inventory level and maintain in optimum level

OPERATING AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Run RFP processes, supplier vetting and generate purchase orders.
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

• Manage and oversee HR initiatives, including the recruitment, induction, development, and training of all staff within your portfolio according to business demands and relevant policies and procedures.
• Motivate and give direction to employees within your portfolio.
• Ensure subordinates comply with IMS standards;
• Ensure subordinates compliance with standards and resource controls
• Building Team relationships and conflict resolution
• Performance management

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 10 Year’s Experience in a Similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field
• Monitor vendors for quality, service and price through standard purchasing specifications
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in achieving BBBEE procurement requirements
• Implement sound purchasing policies, systems and procedures in accordance with Company standards.
• Driving efficient and sustainable procurement practices, managing supplier relationships, supporting negotiation of strategic contracts, mitigating risks, and optimizing costs to support the success of the Business
