Group Reporting and Compliance Officer

An opportunity for a Group Reporting and Compliance officer is open to a quality candidate with either a CA(SA) or CIMA completed qualification. The role would need someone with Post article experience, broad knowledge of SA Taxes and relevant SA Legislation. POSITION INFO:

Assisting with the review of the OPCO income statement and balance sheet prepared by the Financial Managers, to ensure integrity

Providing shareholders and directors with a quarterly report on the consolidated results

Assisting with implementation of systems for monthly reporting by the various divisions

Assisting finance department with complex queries

Review and sign-off of Audit files, before handed to auditors

Primary responsibility for the planning & coordination of the annual external audit

Preparation of Annual Financial Statements

Assisting with the preparation and presentation of the annual Risk & Compliance meeting

Annual presentation of internal audit plan to directors and shareholders

Quarterly reviews of trial balances for each division

Providing formal feedback on the internal reviews to Exco and directors

Provide recommendations of controls and systems to be implemented

Reviewing SARS profile on monthly basis (Statement of accounts), to ensure VAT and Payroll tax compliance

Providing assistance to OPCO’s with SARS related queries

Reviews the monthly VAT submissions prepared by FM’s, to ensure accuracy before submission to SARS

Liaising with tax practitioners on a regular basis, to ensure tax compliance and obtaining Tax Clearance Certificates

Ability to formulate policies and procedures which comply with legislative requirements

Stay abreast of new legislation and changes in existing legislation and inform Exco what action required to comply

Assist with ensuring all company information has been lodged with authorities and is updated regularly

Assisting with EEA and BBEEE submissions

Provide regular training to the Financial Team on new developments and financial policies

Assist with the coordination of the annual budgeting process

Assist with the review the budgets and resolve all issues identified

Skills & Experience:

IFRS Accounting framework

Knowledge of SA Taxes

Knowledge of the SA Companies act and other relevant legislation

Advanced Financial Accounting systems knowledge

Qualification:

CA(SA) or CIMA qualification essential
