We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Group SHEQ Manager to lead and drive the company’s SHEQ strategy across all sites. This role is pivotal in ensuring legal compliance, managing risks, and embedding a high-performance safety culture in line with company values and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications & Certifications
- Blasting Certificate
- NADSAM / SAMTRAC or equivalent SHEQ qualification
- COMSOC 1 & 2
- Diploma in Safety Management
- Strata Control and Risk Management
- Legal Liability certification
- ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 experience
- Advanced computer literacy, reporting, and presentation skills
Experience- Minimum of 10+ years in SHEQ management in a mining environment, including senior roles (Chief Safety Officer or SHEQ Manager level)
- Proven experience managing DMRE investigations and Section 54/55 directives
- Extensive leadership experience across diverse teams and operational cultures
- Track record of implementing and maintaining ISO-certified systems
- Sound experience in SHEQ governance, risk management, and system integration
Key ResponsibilitiesSHEQ Governance & Compliance- Ensure full compliance with OHS and Mine Health and Safety Acts
- Serve as Management Representative for the Integrated SHEQ Management System
- Lead investigations and reporting of all safety, health, environmental, and quality incidents
- Engage with DMRE and regulatory authorities during audits and inspections
SHEQ Strategy & Reporting- Set and monitor annual SHEQ objectives aligned with business strategy
- Compile detailed monthly reports for Managing Director and EXCO
- Maintain legal registers, ensure audit readiness and certification continuity
Safety Management- Appoint and mentor competent SHEQ personnel across sites
- Ensure safety systems, audits, and client requirements are met
- Lead the development and implementation of proactive safety initiatives
Health & Wellness- Ensure compliance with occupational medical requirements
- Promote and manage employee wellness programmes
- Investigate and report occupational diseases
Environmental Management- Ensure environmental legal compliance and ISO 14001 adherence
- Investigate environmental incidents and drive continuous improvement
- Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits
Quality Assurance- Develop and oversee quality management systems
- Lead investigations into non-conformances
- Conduct internal audits and monitor supplier performance
Technical Competencies- Solid mining production and opencast mining experience
- Skilled in ISO system implementation and maintenance
- Experience in skills development monitoring
