Group Senior Internal Auditor

Our client, an investment holding company operating in the FMCG industry, is looking for a Group Senior Internal Auditor to join their team.

Job overview / Role purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Group Senior Internal Auditor is the coordination of specific processes to support the implementation and execution of the company's audit plan, monitoring compliance, preparing, and presenting audit findings and recommendations and providing assurance of compliance to statutory requirements and policies and procedures.

He / she will be required to bring subject matter expertise to the audits and / or risk assessments they are responsible for implementing.

Duties:

• Conducts internal financial, operational, and/or system audits and risk assessments.
• Perform audit procedures to ensure information system integrity and transaction validity, accuracy and completeness and reports discrepancies.
• Assists in preparing audit plans and understands the specific issues to be evaluated.
• Develop formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies, if applicable and makes recommendations as appropriate.
• Coordinate processes to support implementation and execution of audit plans.
• Work with external stakeholders to coordinate reporting and ensure all stakeholders are aware of the audit details and areas of concern.
• Remains current with best practice and legislation and related business operational processes to enable analyses and review of a variety of risk and compliance areas in the business depending on the scope identified in the audit plan.
• Analysing the operations in a way which closely follows the rules and procedures supporting the organization's goals and objectives to determine compliance to these procedures.
• Analysing and evaluating the internal controls to determine its effectiveness in mitigating risks and threats and to ensure the reliability of financial reports and compliance to laws and statutory reports.
• Evaluates methods used by the company to protect its assets and assesses the relevance of safeguards.
• Professionally communicate audit findings to required stakeholders.
• Prepare a final audit report for submission and distribution to the various stakeholders and the adequacy and effectiveness of stakeholder action plans are assessed and implementation is monitored and reported in writing.
• Review outcome of audit process in terms of objectives, quality, completeness, and feedback.
• Provides objective evaluations of internal controls, risk management efforts and governance processes.
• Coaching and overseeing work conducted by junior staff members.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Honours Degree in Accounting / Financial / Commercial field of study.
• CIA qualified (completed part 3) or newly qualified CA.

Experience and skills:

• 5+ years' work experience in FMCG Industry.
• Requires audit knowledge and skills in finance / accounting and / or information system operations, and related standards.
• Demonstrable experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience auditing processes and financial information.

Proven knowledge, skills, and attitude:

• Good knowledge of manufacturing (preferably food / beverage industry).
• Deadline driven, and results orientated.
• Solid analytical and reporting abilities.
• Presentation and computer skills (MS Office / ERP System).
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Takes initiative.
• Good attention to detail.
• Trustworthy.
• Able to handle work pressure.
• Must be able to travel locally.
• Driver’s license and own transport.

Area: Cape Town.

Salary offered: R40 000 – R50 000 per month.

Starting date: As soon as possible.
