POSITION INFO:
Location: Midrand, Gauteng

Job Purpose
The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day human resources operations. The role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company’s goals while promoting a positive workplace culture. This role will support employee development, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and organizational change, ensuring that the company remains an employer of choice in the energy sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Post-graduate qualification or certification in HR (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior HR role, preferably within the renewable energy, engineering, or technical sectors.
• Proven experience in managing the full HR function, from recruitment to compliance.
• Experience in driving organizational change, managing employee relations, and overseeing HR policies.
• Knowledge of South African labour law and regulations.
• Proficient in HRIS and HR software applications (e.g., SAP, Workday, or similar platforms).
• High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to manage employee relations and foster a collaborative culture.

• Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s goals, ensuring that people-related needs are effectively managed as the company grows.

• Oversee the full recruitment cycle, ensuring that the company attracts and retains the right talent.
• Work closely with hiring managers to fill vacancies, conduct interviews, and streamline onboarding processes.

• Build and maintain positive relationships between employees and management.
• Address any grievances or conflicts, ensuring adherence to company policies and fostering a positive working environment.

• Implement and manage performance management systems, including setting KPIs, conducting performance appraisals, and identifying areas for employee development.

• Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, focusing on both technical and soft skills.
• Support career development opportunities and succession planning.

• Ensure compliance with all local labour laws, health and safety regulations, and HR best practices.
• Develop, update, and implement HR policies in line with legal requirements and industry standards.

• Manage employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity. Oversee payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate disbursements.

• Foster a positive company culture through employee engagement initiatives, wellbeing programs, and employee recognition systems.

• Track HR metrics and provide regular reports on key people-related data to senior leadership, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
