HR Manager

SUMMARY:
A well-established client in the hospitality and gaming sector is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and manage the full HR function at one of their flagship properties.
This opportunity is suited to a hands-on HR professional with strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, industrial relations, recruitment, and HR operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting management, maintaining compliance, and ensuring effective people management practices across the business.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field
• Proven experience managing an HR function within a medium to large organisation
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and industrial relations practices
• Experience managing recruitment and selection processes
• Experience overseeing disciplinary processes and employee relations matters
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a management team

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

• Ensure HR policies, procedures, and legislative requirements are implemented and adhered to consistently.
• Maintain compliance with labour legislation and internal HR standards.
• Provide guidance to management on HR best practices and labour-related matters.

Recruitment & Talent Management

• Manage recruitment and selection processes in line with company policies and legislative requirements.
• Support management in identifying and appointing high-quality candidates.

Employee Relations & Industrial Relations

• Oversee disciplinary processes and hearings.
• Provide expert advice to management on industrial relations and labour law matters.
• Ensure fair and consistent application of disciplinary procedures.

Employee Development & Wellbeing

• Manage the Employee Assistance Programme and ensure appropriate support for employees.
• Oversee training and development initiatives aligned with organisational strategy.
• Ensure feedback and performance discussions are conducted effectively.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with management and operational teams to ensure consistent HR support and guidance.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, accuracy, and service delivery.
