About the position:

The successful applicant will serve a small team, report to the Human Resources and Learning Manager and work closely with the Production, Localization and Talent Teams.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment and selection process:

  • Ensure job advertisements are managed on recruitment platforms
  • Responsible for communication with relevant recruitment agencies for executive or bulk placements
  • Ensure candidates meet the job criteria and are the best culture fit for the company
  • Ensure relevant assessments are completed by candidates
  • Ensure references and any required background checks are completed
  • Ensure interviews are coordinated and conducted with relevant technical experts
  • Responsible for communicating with successful and unsuccessful applicants

Onboarding and offboarding process:

  • Responsible for the on-boarding and off-boarding processes and administration
  • Assistance with the induction and orientation process
  • Ensure that exit interviews are scheduled and completed
  • Ensure that all off-boarding administration is completed on the payroll system
  • Ensure that all company property is returned

Performance management guidance provided to line management:

  • Ensure probation performance management process is completed by managers
  • Monitoring performance indicators, such as absenteeism levels, grievances, disciplinary processes, employee wellbeing matters, development of initiatives and solutions
  • Fostering and maintaining a work environment that encourages respect, and is free from discriminatory or harassing behaviour
  • Evaluate, update and drive human resources policies and procedures
  • Ensure that performance management systems and processes are efficient and effective
  • Ensure that the Performance management process is effectively coordinated and that all deadlines are met
  • Work closely with the HR and Learning Manager to establish diverse incentive, reward and benefit systems that consider the drivers of talented staff

Employee and Labour Relations:

  • Advise managers and employees on implementation of relevant labour legislation
  • Responsible for labour relations compliance
  • Facilitate disciplinary process and other people processes
  • Provide support in employee relations issues including but not limited to change management, grievances, poor performance and disciplinary action
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing legislative requirements
  • Attend to Employee Relations matters and ensure that labour legislation is adhered to
  • Implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance
  • Responsible for coaching to management on policy interpretation and application
  • Responsible for facilitating counselling procedures

Internal and External Communication:

  • Provide HR related data and reporting to functional and business leaders, to promote data driven decision making and strategic development
  • Responsible for human resources communication
  • Drive key HR initiatives and strategic processes
  • Assist in coaching and developing managerial people and communication skills
  • Responsible for the coordination of internal and external communication

Training and Development:

  • Assistance with the Learning and Development strategy
  • Identification and analysis of skills gaps as well as communication of training requirements
  • Create awareness of relevant Training and Development interventions
  • Coordination of training and development initiatives
  • Management of outsourced training vendors
  • Coaching and Mentoring employees for Training and Development purposes

HR Operating systems and Record keeping:

  • Ensure HR systems and databases are always accurately updated
  • Responsible for accurate monthly reports
  • Payroll and benefits administration
  • Collaborate with managers to update and maintain job descriptions and as well as setting performance standards

Maintaining and updating HR Administration:

  • Responsible for Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment BBBEE
  • Ensure that all employees have signed contracts, and employee pack and relevant legislative requirements
  • Responsible for Employment Equity reporting and administration
  • Responsible for all DOL statutory requirements

Employee and Customer needs:

  • Develop sound relationships with all stakeholders
  • Responsible for assessing HR requirements, keeping the business objectives in mind
  • Responsible for escalating issues, when appropriate
  • Responsible for working independently and prioritizing tasks
  • Responsible for driving own career development
  • Adhere to the HR company policies and procedure
  • Assist staff and managers in achieving common goals
  • Be an example of the company culture and values

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management
  • 1 - 2 Years of practical experience as an HR Generalist (may have been a trainee HR Generalist)
  • Recruitment and Employee Relations experience
  • A background in the film and media, e-learning or post production industries is advantageous

Specific skills required:

  • Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • High literacy levels for English (written and spoken) and/or multiple language comprehension
