POSITION INFO:
VACANCY SPH KUNDALILA (Pty) Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced person to fill the position of HSE Officer at our Saldanha Operations. The applicant should meet the following requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Matric. Appointment subject to criminal, qualification and reference verification Valid Driver's License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Certificate of Fitness 5 years Health and Safety Experience in the mining\/construction industry. Safety Qualification (SAMTRAC; HSE Diploma - advantageous). ISO45001 System experience Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental laws and regulations as well as industry standards, effective health and safety implementation strategies and best practices. Computer Literate (Microsoft 365 package). Proven track record (HSE Performance). Exposure to both the OHSA as well as the MHSA will be advantageous. Technical background would be an advantage. Willing to work overtime and form part of a standby roster. Ability to work unsupervised. Able to speak, read and write English and Afrikaans. Ability to achieve and maintain good interpersonal and working relations with staff and management. Ability to work under pressure & able to meet and set deadlines. Must fit in with the culture and values of SPH key performance areas Must be able to conduct the following: Risk Management: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments. Incident Management & reporting: Incident investigation techniques (ICAM or RCAT). Maintain, enforce and monitor the integrated HSE System. Ø Maintaining of the ISO45001 system Ø Health and safety regulatory compliance. Ø Facilitate Routine inspections and audits. Ø Emergency Preparedness and Response. Ø Ensuring the implementation of policies and procedures in line with set objectives. Ø Subcontractor compliance [internal \/ external]. Ø Always encourage safe working practices in line with company policies and procedures. Ø Implement company Safety Improvement Plan Ø Legal & System Compliance Ø Risk & Critical Control Assurance Ø Training, Culture & Contractor Management Ø Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ø Good time management skills. Ø Report directly to the Site Manager and HSE Manager.
