HVAC Technical Manager
POSITION INFO:
HVAC Technical Manager - JHB
As Technical Manager you will primarily be responsible for managing, coordinating and overseeing a portfolio of client contracts which includes managing a high volume of customer service level agreements, management of the maintenance, repair and installation of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, both on a fixed site or via a number mobile teams performing work at various remote client sites. You will be required to plan and manage the daily activities of these teams, compliance to customer SLA''s, provide monthly and ad-hoc technical reports, prepare audit reports with budget proposals, ensure portfolio financial performance and compliance with company procedures. You may be required to provide higher level technical support to your, or other, teams, whilst training, mentoring junior staff and maintaining oversight of the 2IC Program within your portfolio.
The Technical Manager is seen as a subject matter expert in all aspects of HVAC & Refrigeration maintenance management. A component of account management is required in support of the Key Account Manager.
In addition, you will be required to carry out your role whilst maintaining company, industry and safety standards.
Minimum requirements :
❑ 5 - 7 years within a similar role (HVAC Manager) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
❑ Proven experience in project management / supervision and adherence to service level agreements.
❑ Provel ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs;
❑ Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommendations subsequent budget changes where necessary.
❑ Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding the team accountable for performance.
❑ Adapt at conducting research into project-related issues and projects
❑ Possess a strong personal desire for improvement; and the desire motivate HVAC Technicians to be better tomorrow than they are today.
❑ Experience working both independently and in a team-orientated, collaborative environment.
Relevant Diploma, / Degree in Project Management
❑ Diploma / Degree in Business Management | ❑ N2 – N6 Certified
❑ Possession of a valid driver’s licence | ❑ Gas Practitioner certified (mandatory)
❑ Trade Qualified Refrigeration / Airconditioning Technician / Mechanic (Industrial/Commercial) Knowledge:
❑ Knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management
❑ Exhibit an in-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems
❑ Sound understanding of contracting principles and contractor management.
❑ Intermediate financial management knowledge
❑ Must be able to learn and apply new technologies
❑ Has the ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on manuals, schematics, and control circuits relating to HVAC and Refrigeration systems
❑ Intermediate knowledge of proficiency and command of Work, Excel and Report Writing.
