Carry out Preventative Maintenance, Repairs and installation on HVAC system and Refrigeration.

POSITION INFO:
Key Accountabilities or Principal Responsibilities 1. Preventative Maintenance, Repairs and installation Servicing and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems and plantrooms (Central plants, VRV\/VRF systems, Split Units, RTUs, CRAC\/CRAH, Extraction and Ducting systems) Maintain Chillers, Pumps, AHUs, FCUs, CRAC\/CRAH, VRV\/VRF, cooling towers, extract and ventilation systems Maintain electrical panels and control panels associated with the HVAC systems Inspection and maintenance of fan belts, filters, coils, fans, pumps, valves and motors Inspection and maintenance of plantroom equipment and associated components. Perform HVAC fault-finding and system diagnostics Maintain and troubleshoot building management system Decommissioning of AC units and systems as per compliance standards and requirements Perform installations of AC units and systems as per compliance and OEM standards and requirements Identify faults and report any equipment requiring repair or replacement, and provide detailed specifications on replacement spares or equipment Provide technical support to junior staff Maintain a clean, organised and safe plantroom and work area Liaise with customers on a daily basis Work unplanned hours in case of an emergency to ensure business continuity. Perform any other duties as delegated by Management Carry out repairs on HVAC equipment as per client requests and in accordance with SLA and operational rules. Ensure each planned maintenance job card has task sheet attached. Ensure that all staff working on the job have appropriate PPE. Ensure that risk assessment and LOTO procedure have been followed. Ensure all tasks relevant to the planned maintenance are carried out satisfactorily, in accordance to legal requirements and OEM. Complete job card in full and obtain completion signatures. Report any follow-up work and any safety related matters noticed. 2. HVAC Duties Train, develop and uplift junior staff through knowledge and skill transfer. Ensure that all tools used are well maintained, and the correct tools are used for the relevant trade Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility Give feedback to helpdesk at each critical phase of the repair job. Demonstrate teamwork and readiness to assist fellow employees. Adhere to AFMS Policies, Protocols and Procedures 3. OHSA Compliance Ensure compliance to all Health and Safety Standards. Implement Contractor Health and Safety Management system with staff and sub-contractors. It should be noted that, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to perform tasks other than those described herein from time to time. Prescribed procedures may be amended by management as and when required. Key Skills and Experience Grade 12 QCTO Red Seal Trade qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Level B6 SAQCC licence Nationally recognised HVAC Qualification (Post Trade Test \/ N3) Minimum 5 years' relevant experience Valid driver's licence (Code 8) Valid Gas license to issue COC Safe Handling Certificate Knowledge and good understanding of applicable Health & Safety regulations and procedures Willing and flexible to work extended hours and\/or outside of normal working hours where required People and Management Skill Good interpersonal skills Good and proven leadership skills Customer focused Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Able to manage and control difficult situations Able to act quickly and calmly in an emergency Self-motivated Willingness to walk the extra mile Key result areas Understand role of reporting to the business and client Understand all outputs delivered are aligned with business requirements Understand that feedback is critical to success Values \/ Behavioural Open Communication Teamwork Accountability Respect Caring Additional Responsibilities and Skills The employee acknowledges that all duties performed will reflect on the client and will thus act in a professional manner at all times, as FMS is a service provider, all necessary steps need to be taken to ensure that the service has been delivered according to client requirements, and to prescribed service levels.
