Qualification and experience:

Education:
• A qualified Actuary.

Experience:
• 5-10 years’ experience as an Executive/Senior Manager in a financial services or Pension Fund environment, preferably in an actuarial role with a solid understanding of pension benefits administration.
• Proven track record of experience in a senior-level position in the Pension fund industry or related financial services industry.
• Demonstrate experience and understanding of benefits administration, actuarial valuations, investment analysis, research.
• understanding of global and regional financial markets.

Knowledge:

Awareness and understanding of the Government Employee Pension Fund and/or Pension Fund Industry
• Relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures e.g. GEP Law and Pension Funds Act, GEP law
• Actuarial concepts
• Benefits administration
• Corporate Social Investment principles
• Corporate Governance principles (King IV report)
• Understanding of employee benefit structures
• Financial risk management
• Economic analysis (impact of global events on investments)
• Global market industries
• Contract management
• Stakeholder liaison and management
• Project management theory and practice
• Monitoring and evaluation practice
• Media analysis and liaison
