SUMMARY:
A Big 5 luxury lodge in Greater Addo, Eastern Cape is seeking an experienced and professional Head Chef to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operation, ensuring consistently high culinary standards, excellent food quality and presentation, and an exceptional dining experience for guests.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS: - Proven experience as a Head Chef within a luxury lodge, hotel or safari environment - Previous Big 5 or luxury lodge experience highly advantageous - Strong knowledge of fine dining and luxury hospitality standards - Excellent menu planning and food preparation skills - Strong leadership and team management abilities - Experience training, motivating and supervising kitchen staff - Strong understanding of food cost, portion control and stock management - Experience with ordering, receiving and stock rotation - Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards - Creative and passionate approach to food and presentation - Ability to cater for dietary requirements and special guest requests - Strong organisational and time-management skills - Ability to work under pressure in a remote lodge environment - Professional, reliable and hands-on - Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversee the daily kitchen operation - Plan and prepare high-quality meals to luxury standards - Develop and maintain menus appropriate for the lodge - Ensure excellent food presentation and consistent quality - Manage, train and motivate the kitchen team - Allocate duties and monitor kitchen performance - Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards - Manage food stock, ordering, receiving and storage - Monitor food costs, portion control and wastage - Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate records - Ensure dietary requirements and special requests are correctly managed - Work closely with lodge management and front-of-house teams - Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and operational - Assist with menu planning for special occasions and guest experiences - Maintain a professional and efficient kitchen environment - Remain hands-on and lead by example PACKAGE: - Salary: R20,000 - R24,000 per month, depending on experience - Live-in accommodation provided - Meals provided LOCATION: Greater Addo - Eastern Cape START DATE: Immediate ð¨ð·ð·ð³ð ðµð¶ð¾: ð·ððððð ððððð ðð ððð ðððð ððððð ððð ðððððð ðððð ðªð½ (4ð´ð© ðð ððððððð).
