Head Chef

SUMMARY:
Experienced, energetic and passionate Head Chef for a busy hospitality operation based in Langebaan on the West Coast.
We are looking for a strong, hands-on culinary leader with proven experience managing a kitchen, leading a team and maintaining consistently high standards across food quality, presentation, hygiene and service delivery.

POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Formal culinary qualification or recognised professional chef training - Proven Head Chef, Executive Chef or senior kitchen management experience - Strong hands-on experience managing a busy kitchen and kitchen brigade - Conference and banqueting experience essential - Confident managing a busy pass during high-volume service - Strong menu planning, recipe development and food costing experience - Stock control, purchasing and ordering experience - Materials Control, Clubmaster, Micros or similar systems advantageous - Good Microsoft Excel skills - Strong food hygiene, health and safety knowledge - Proven ability to train, mentor and develop kitchen staff - Fluent English; Afrikaans advantageous - Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle - Golf estate or golf club experience advantageous - Professional, well groomed and confident engaging with guests KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Take full responsibility for daily kitchen operations - Lead, manage and develop the kitchen team - Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation standards - Manage the pass during busy services - Menu planning, recipe development and food costings - Control food costs, wastage and portioning - Manage stock, purchasing and supplier orders - Coordinate conferences, banqueting, functions and daily food service - Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance - Remain hands-on and support the team during service IMPORTANT Accommodation is not provided.
