My Client a Transport Business and part of a company which is a leading international professionally managed industrial and services conglomerate, with substantial annual turnover engaged in diverse operations such as Sugar, Confectionery, Alcohol, Power, Bottled Spirit, Steel, Tea, Packaging Solutions, PP Bags, Safety Matches, Construction, Hospitality, Insurance, Distribution Agencies, Security Services, etc is looking for:

Position: TRANSPORT (Operations - Business Head)

The candidate should be an Automobile / Mechanical engineering graduate or an MBA in logistics or related field, with 15 to 20 years of experience in a transport / fleet management company out of which the last five of years should be as head of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for:

• Working as profit centre head.
• Carrying market study for fleet sales and preparation of business plans (one/three/five years).
• Identify new revenue streams / Opportunities in business.
• Preparation of CAPEX and review budget with the team for achieving the agreed P&L.
• Review the performance of the business and take corrective actions.
• Recruiting and developing the team for smooth operations of the business.
• Develop and implement driver recruitment and training program.
• Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of vehicles/fleets.
• Ensuring quick turnaround and optimum utilization of feet.
• Implement delivery documentation process.
• Selection of sub-contractors based on the need of the business.
• Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure that work is completed and is consistent with the company's standards.
• Collaborating with staff members to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures as well as company revenue goals and customer service objectives.
• Making sure fleet/vehicles are properly maintained and available for business at any given time.
• Ensuring daily/periodical inspection of vehicles.
• Implement proper fuel and tyre management systems.
• Always maintaining critical spares.
• Ensuring all drivers and operators have the required qualification and skills
• Reducing the risk of vehicle overloading.
• Timely submission of Management reports.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
• Ensuring compliance with fleet statutory compliances of the country’s regulations.
• Promoting a safe work environment by conducting safety audits and attending company safety meetings.
• Any other jobs assigned by the management from time to time.
