Head of Audit

POSITION INFO:

Lead the strategic design and delivery of internal audit plans across Advice & Investment business units, including wealth management, stockbroking, estate planning, trusts, and financial advisory
Oversee the execution of risk-based audits, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with regulatory, governance, and group standards
Drive combined assurance efforts by collaborating across all three lines of defence to improve the overall control environment
Engage with executive stakeholders, including Boards, Managing Executives, and Regulators, delivering clear, impactful insights that influence strategic decisions
Champion a culture of ethical leadership, integrity, and compliance, maintaining the trust of internal and external stakeholders
Develop and manage a high-performing audit team, fostering talent development, succession planning, and a culture of continuous learning
Apply strategic thinking and commercial insight to align audit focus with business objectives and emerging risks
Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape, ensuring audit activities remain compliant and forward-looking
Promote innovation in audit, leveraging data analytics and digital tools to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency
Communicate effectively at all levels, delivering compelling audit reports and insights through both written and verbal channels
Navigate complex operational environments, demonstrating sound judgement and resilience under pressure
Influence cross-functional teams and business leaders, fostering collaboration and accountability for risk and control improvement

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 15 years' experience in internal/external audit or equivalent roles within major financial institutions or Big 4 firms
Proven experience in risk-based auditing, internal controls, and assurance across financial services sectors, including banking, insurance, investments, and wealth advisory
Strong track record of leading audit teams, managing performance, and developing talent in complex, matrixed environments
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement at executive and board levels, with a focus on governance and regulatory interface
Hands-on involvement in combined assurance, strategic audit planning, and digital/data-enabled audit initiatives

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Auditing or related field (essential)
Professional certifications such as CA(SA), CIA, CISA or equivalent (required)
Fit and Proper to be registered with the Prudential Authority as a Key Person
