POSITION INFO:
This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with a strong track record in business development, client acquisition, and strategic relationship management, looking to make a meaningful impact within a growing banking environment.
The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and strengthening the bank’s market presence by identifying and converting new business opportunities, while building and maintaining strong client relationships.
The role requires a strategic thinker who can translate market insights into actionable business plans, deliver tailored financial solutions, and foster long-term partnerships across key industries.
Alternatively, the client is open to considering high-calibre professionals from outside of banking who bring:
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, combined with
- Proven experience in business development, deal origination, or commercial roles, and
- A clear interest in transitioning into the Corporate & Investment Banking environment.
This opportunity is open to Namibian citizens, as well as suitably qualified candidates based outside Namibia who are willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive business growth by identifying, evaluating, and converting new opportunities across corporate and commercial banking segments.
- Develop and execute market expansion strategies, informed by market research and competitor analysis.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to support long-term growth and retention.
- Deliver tailored financial solutions that create value for clients and strengthen the bank’s competitive position.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the seamless execution of initiatives, while monitoring performance, ensuring compliance, and contributing to a high-performance culture.
Job Experience and Skills Required:- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Agriculture, Geology, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification (Honours, Master’s, and MBA) or professional certifications, such as CFA, CA, or CIMA, will be advantageous.
- Around 5–7 years’ experience in a senior or strategic business development role within the financial services or related sectors.
- Strong industry exposure to sectors such as agriculture, mining, engineering, oil & gas, or investment banking will be advantageous.
- Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and revenue growth.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans and translate them into measurable outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
