Head of Business Development

SUMMARY:
Purpose of the Job

• To spearhead the business development and management of all activities related to sales, marketing, partnership development and the acquisition of new business for Trans-Africa Projects.
• The incumbent will be responsible to drive business growth and revenue and serve as a member of strategic management team.

• Define TAP Corporate Identity- Strategic Market Analysis, Risk Assessment, Corporate Behaviour & Design, Branding, Corporate Social Responsibility.
• Develop Beneficial Partnerships- Develop Partnership Strategies, Identify Liaisons, negotiate deals and Agreements and Maintain Partnerships.
• Perform Market Analysis- Scan Tendering Opportunities, Research Latest Developments, Build Network of Industry Contacts, Attend Industry Gatherings and Direct Customer Enquiry.
• Promote TAP Services - Tender and Proposal Preparations, Management of Tender/Proposal Process, Physical Presence, Targeted Promotions, Promotional Material and Displays, TAP Website and TAP Courses.
• Build Client Relationships- Establish Client Needs, Contractual Arrangements, Feedback on Activities, Complaints Resolution, Technical Advice and Corporate Courtesy.
• Develop Plans and Strategies for New Business Markets- Plans and strategies for harnessing new business partnerships.

POSITION INFO:
Required Qualifications

• Relevant Degree in Engineering, Project Management Diploma, MBA (Preferable).

• 10 years in Power System Development environment.
• Marketing and Proposal / Tender Preparation, Strategic Planning, Presentation.
• Successful business development track record.
• Extensive Knowledge of Power System Industry.

• Sound Financial Acumen, Leadership, Negotiation and persuasion skills, Business Intelligence & acumen, Project management, Strategic thinking, Research and analysis.
