Head of Engineering
We're recruiting on behalf of a client looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering in Renewable Energy to join their team in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:
Job & Company Description:
Lead engineering team, manage the engineering budget, contribute to improvement of products and provide strategic input to assist the MANCO and EXCO in making appropriate business decisions.

Education:

BEng Electrical Engineering
3 Phase Trade Test and Wireman’s License

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Minimum 9 years of experience in Solar Power Manufacturing
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Leadership position
Strong knowledge of Helioscope, PVSyst, PV Sol, AutoCAD
Designing and modelling storage and micro-grid solutions
Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems in order to improve technical performance
Attending/presenting at conferences/events
Networking with relevant industry stakeholders
Keeping on top of what’s going on in the market (Regulatory changes, large tenders, shifts in typical business models)
Monitor competition, economic indicators, and industry trends.
Communicating the goals of the company to all engineers and professionals in the team
Delegating tasks to engineering team members
Supervising staff training as well as equipment installation
Performing quality control checks on all systems and products
Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment
Participate in MANCO and EXCO
Provide strategic input
Conduct performance appraisals
Regularly provide constructive feedback to team members
Supervising every phase of the project from start to completion
