Head of Finance

SUMMARY:
An established player in the FMCG manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Finance to drive financial strategy, strengthen governance, and support commercial decision-making. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic leadership team focused on innovation, operational efficiency, and sustained growth — both locally and across selected international markets.

POSITION INFO:

Financial Planning & Oversight
Drive the full financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and statutory reporting
Deliver clear, timely financial insights to both local and broader stakeholders
Manage key financial functions including cost controls, payroll, procurement, treasury, and overall cash flow
Risk Management & Compliance
Uphold a robust financial control environment that supports sustainable business practices
Oversee capital investment governance and post-project reviews
Ensure full compliance with financial legislation and internal frameworks
Facilitate successful external audits and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies
Strategic Financial Leadership
Collaborate closely with senior leadership to guide financial strategy and operational alignment
Enable informed business decisions through data-driven financial analysis and insights
Contribute to pricing structures, margin management, and cost efficiency projects
Team Leadership & Capability Growth
Lead and inspire a high-performing finance team, setting clear objectives and development paths
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and ethical leadership
Support long-term talent planning and succession development within the finance function
Operational and Commercial Enablement
Ensure the finance function supports broader operational goals including procurement planning and costings
Provide financial guidance for new projects and product development initiatives
Continuously refine systems and processes to enhance accuracy, agility, and risk mitigation

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 10+ years in financial management, with at least 10 years’ experience in FMCG, manufacturing, procurement, and commercial finance
Strong financial reporting, risk, governance, and tax knowledge
High commercial acumen and ability to influence at executive level
Complex problem-solving ability and strategic vision
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting (essential)
Honours or Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration (preferred)
