Head of Finance CA (SA)

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a dynamic, commercially astute Head of Finance to lead their finance function and support the strategic growth of their business.
 
This senior leadership role encompasses financial governance, reporting, and compliance, while also driving performance, enabling sound decision-making, and leading a high performing finance team. You will collaborate closely with the executive team, board, and key stakeholders, providing financial insight and leadership across operational and strategic initiatives for the group.

• Senior certificate
• CA (SA)
• Minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience in a senior finance role, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.

• Knowledge of IFRS & basic supply chain costing principles.
• Strong business and organizational insight.
• Proficient in MS Office, MIS & Sage.
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written); effective with internal & external stakeholders.
• Business communication skills.

• Partner with the MD and leadership team to understand business drivers and provide actionable financial insights.
• Drive gross profit growth through margin analysis, cost control, and process improvements.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reports to the executives/board, including trend and risk analysis.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and statutory reporting.
• Oversee financial controls, risk management, audit, and compliance frameworks.
• Lead the implementation of financial systems, automation tools, and dashboards to enhance efficiency and visibility.
• Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive financial strategies aligned with business goals and support decision-making across business units.
• Manage external stakeholder relationships, including auditors, banks, and regulators.
• Maintain strong internal and external relationships and stay current with market trends and industry knowledge.
• Proactively seek opportunities to support business growth and add value.
