SUMMARY:

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Develop and implement financial goals, strategies, and policies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the preparation and management of the annual budget.
• Oversee accurate financial data input, security, and reporting.
• Analyse trends in revenue, expenses, and forecasting to support executive decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Audits

• Prepare accurate financial statements including income, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting frameworks.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Maintain robust accounting records, reconciliations, and general ledgers.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure the implementation of best practices in financial controls.
• Enforce adherence to organisational policies and compliance with governance standards (e.g., QMS).

Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, clients, and suppliers.
• Oversee compliance interactions with regulatory bodies (e.g., SARS, industry regulators).
• Provide financial insights and updates to executive leadership and board members.

Team Leadership

• Lead the finance department and oversee day-to-day operations.
• Conduct performance reviews and define development goals for finance staff.
• Drive training, coaching, and succession planning across the department.

Investment Management & Strategy

• Evaluate investment opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.
• Manage and optimise the company’s investment portfolio and associated risks.

Risk Management

• Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Establish and enforce internal financial controls and risk management systems.

Technology Integration

• Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial IT systems.
• Ensure systems enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Corporate Governance

• Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements.
• Provide financial insights for board-level decision-making, including strategic planning and forecasting.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional Certification: CA(SA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent (mandatory).
• Advanced Degree (preferred): Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration.
• Experience:
  
  • Minimum of 10 years in financial management, including 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong technical experience in budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and audit compliance.
  • Previous experience in sectors such as security services, logistics, or related industries is advantageous.
