A progressive insurance organization in Johannesburg North is searching for a high-impact Financial Director to take full ownership of financial leadership at business-unit level. As the Financial Director, you will serve as the business’s senior financial authority, shaping strategy, steering performance, and safeguarding long-term financial strength. While you will benefit from established group frameworks, you will have the freedom to design, modernize, and elevate the finance environment to industry-leading standards.

How You will Drive Strategic Impact

• Define financial strategy, governance structures, and policy execution
• Lead financial performance through reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analytics
• Deliver commercial insights, financial modelling, and FP&A that guide executive decisions
• Uphold world-class controls, compliance standards, risk management, and IFRS adherence (including IFRS 17)
• Champion system upgrades, process automation, and operational efficiency initiatives
• Oversee end-to-end finance operations, payroll, and cost-management functions
• Advise the Executive Committee and Board as a trusted financial partner
• Build, mentor, and empower a high-performance finance team

• CA(SA)
• 12–15 years post-articles experience
• Extensive experience in the insurance sector (non-negotiable)
• At least 7 years’ track record in leading and developing large finance teams
• Proven success in financial strategy, leadership, and scaling finance functions
• Strong IFRS expertise with essential exposure to IFRS 17
• Commercially astute, confident, and able to influence at Board and Executive level
• A hands-on, solutions-driven leader who thrives in complex, evolving environments
