POSITION INFO:
Our client is a well-established and growth-focused mining organisation with operations across Southern Africa. Known for operational excellence and a strong commitment to sustainable mining practices, the company offers an environment where strategic input is valued, and leadership makes a tangible impact.

As Head of Finance, you will serve as a key member of the executive team, responsible for the full financial function of the operation. You will provide strategic financial direction, ensure robust governance and compliance, and drive commercial decision-making to support business growth and profitability. This role offers the opportunity to influence high-level strategy, optimise financial performance, and contribute to long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the full finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Provide strategic financial insights and partner with operational leadership to drive performance and cost optimisation
Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and all statutory requirements within the mining industry
Oversee financial controls, risk management, and governance frameworks
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
Manage stakeholder engagement, including auditors, financial institutions, and board-level reporting

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:

BCom in Accounting or related field (minimum requirement)
Completed SAICA Articles (non-negotiable)
CA(SA) qualification will be advantageous

Experience:

Minimum 8–10 years’ post-article experience in finance
Proven experience within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sector
Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams
Strong background in financial reporting, compliance, and strategic finance

Skills:

Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial modelling capabilities
Solid knowledge of IFRS and mining-related regulatory frameworks
Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking ability
