SUMMARY:
Plan, direct and coordinate the human resources management activities of the Trans-Africa Projects (Pty) Ltd (TAP) to ensure cost effective use of human capital by maintaining and improving practices that support the strategic objectives of the organisation, improved productivity and enhanced performance.

Purpose of the Job: Plan, direct and coordinate the human resources management activities of the Trans-Africa Projects (Pty) Ltd (TAP) to ensure cost effective use of human capital by maintaining and improving practices that support the strategic objectives of the organisation, improved productivity and enhanced performance.
 
Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):
- Develop, implement and maintain the Human Resources strategies, policies and procedures in line with TAP overall strategy
- Develop, implement, monitor and maintain the Human Resources Business Plan
- Ensure compliance of all HR processes in terms of Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Research and advice Business on latest trends and any amendments with regard to Labour regulations and ensure alignment and labour peace within the organisation
- Compile operational risk management policies, frameworks and measures within the department
- Manage recruitment and selection processes of the organisation (local, regional offices and for international projects)
- Implement and manage a sound performance management, rewards and recognition, learning and development, employee wellness strategies, systems and programmes
- Manage and provide technical advice to team managers, HR team and all other staff on all employee relations matters
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports for consideration by the CEO, EXCO and/or the Board
- Manage HR budget and all other related projects
- Lead, manage and participate in organisational wide governance programmes, i.e. BBBEE, EE, CSI, OHS, HR, Training Committee and any other as would be prescribed
- Represent TAP at Human Resources related forums
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day performance and deliverables of the Human Resource team and other relevant support team members
- Perform any other Human Resources related duties as delegated by the CEO and/or Exco.
 
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human resources/equivalent with 8 - 10 years’ Human Resource generalist experience, of which 3 years must have been at Management level. Exposure to an engineering and projects environment will be an advantage.

Other competencies and requirements: Applicants must have a sound understanding of HR legislation, policy and procedures and the ability to think and operate at a strategic level. The candidate must be a team player with proven problem-solving ability, results and goal oriented and have sound feedback and follow-up skills. Candidates must display tenacity, creativity and be stress tolerant.
 
Reporting Level: Managing Director.
