Head of IT

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Head of  IT to manage the strategic direction of all IT resources in line with the organisation's strategy and priorities; and providing guidance to the Board, Excom, Other Executives in the Business, the Chief Operating Officer and OpCom on current technology capabilities, future directions, opportunities arising out of the use of technology and actionable steps to capitalise on opportunities.

• Contribute to the development of the firm’s overall strategy and, in particular, the development of the firm’s information technology strategy (including annual priorities and targets) in collaboration with the Board, Excom, Senior Executives in the business, the Chief Operating Officer and OpCom. Collaborate closely and effectively with all HOD's in order to achieve the strategic objectives of the firm.
• Assist in monitoring the firm's performance against targets.

• Provide strategic guidance to Excom in respect of the firm’s information technology and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
• Translate firm strategy into the business plan of the Department (including annual priorities and targets), coordinate strategic execution at Department level and monitor the Department's performance against targets.
• Maintain a close perspective on external market developments and trends relevant to the Department, monitor competitors' actions and ensure appropriate tactics are adopted to adapt.
• Participate in the decision-making processes of the firm.
• Provide advisory and administrative support and assistance to the Chief Operating Officer on all matters as they relate to the firm’s information technology strategy, investment and security.
• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Department.
• Establish the firm’s information technology platform through which the firm’s information, communication and practice requirements can be effectively delivered, managed, secured and reported on and which ensures overall master data / system accuracy.
• Manage all processes that convert information technology data into information to enable sound business decision making. Responsible for aligning the information technology architecture with business goals, systems selection and acquisition, information technology capital planning and the scoping and customisation of new technologies.
• Custodian of the firm's information technology procedures and systems and responsible for documenting same and ensuring continuous improvement
• Maintain the best practice information technology security compliance for the firm in accordance with [ISO / other relevant standard/s] and ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure integrity, security and privacy aspects for all platforms, databases and systems.
• Responsible for the information technology risk management framework.
• Oversee the development and implementation of robust disaster recovery and business continuity planning strategies, policies and controls to ensure the firm's IT security, integrity and privacy and mitigate against any form of technology risk.
• Ensure training of employees on all relevant information technology policies to ensure proper mitigation of risk.
