Durban Central

Plans the Technology strategy to innovate and develop the company’s internal technology and external technology platform to align with the business strategy and create a market differentiator in company product. This executive role leads and develops technology infrastructure, eliminates security risks, increases customer and user satisfaction. This individual guides development and Innovation to be a market differentiator.

Role and Responsibilities

 

  1. Firm Leadership
  • Makes decisions promptly and effectively by building consensus among partners, managers, and employees.
  • Engages strategic planning process to ensure smooth running IT functionality
  • Communicates and implement vision and strategic plan.
  • Oversees and manages resources in the areas of IT, Innovation, Development and social media.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for the technology function
  • Manages resources in Innovation, Infrastructure and Development, including recruitment of appropriate skills, performance management and delivery of the department
  • Manages department budget
  1. Financial Performance
  • Supports and advises the CEO in decision making.
  • Works with the CEO to establish a financial plan that achieve financial goals, including expenditures, revenue goals, and staff productivity goals.
  • Prepares and manages the budget for the department and prepares forecasts
  • Authorizes expenditures and purchases within the budget and gains approval for any expenditures outside of the budget from the CEO
  1. Technical Responsibility
  • Develops and evolves a strategy around the Application
  • Develops and manages SMART metrics for hardware, software and storage
  • Plans around capacity of resources
  • Directly manages the IT department, including Innovation and Development of the Application
  • Manages the performance of employees in the IT team
  • Collaborates with other departments around IT requirements, customer needs and experience requirements
  • Reports to Managing Executive and Board as required
  • Determines the business requirements for IT systems
  • Ensures appropriate exposure to and management of social media
  • Co-ordinates IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as possible
  • Researches and recommends new technology solutions, software and hardware – stays abreast of technology development
