Head of Infrastructure

SUMMARY:
Our client in Centurion is looking for a Head of Infrastructure to manage systems, distributed infrastructure, storage, backups & data centre teams.

POSITION INFO:

 Experience and Qualifications Required:

• Relevant degree in IT or Management development qualification: MDP, MBA, Management Training
• At least 8 - 10 year''s experience in an Infrastructure Management Position
• Experience with the following technologies in an enterprise environment will advantageous (IBM, HPE, Pure Storage, VMWARE, RHEL or other Linux, Windows Server, UNIX and IBMi
• Previous experience in a services provider environment relating Infrastructure Services
• Good understanding and industry experience in the context of Infrastructure on (Governance, best practice frameworks, standard operating procedures, service management and continuity)
• Experience with Managed Service providers and Gartner Magic quadrant vendors such as IBM, HPE, and Dell etc.
• Must be well versed and understand technologies related to datacentre, backup, storage and fabric, compute, virtualization and operating systems
• Experience managing a team across multiple disciplines to across server environments encompassing Windows, Linux, AIX, AS400, Storage and Virtualisation, Backup and Recovery & Datacentres, 
• Competent with current IT trends in practice (Cloud, DevOps, Automation, Agile Ops etc. 

Responsibilities and work outputs

• Develop and grow the Strategic roadmap for infrastructure and its modernisation into the future including cloud
• Lead the thinking on Infrastructure Architecture, including the evolution towards future infrastructure platforms to provide critical group services and review regularly
• Managed the Operational management teams to ensure client and service delivery objectives
• Project ownership of all infrastructure related projects aligned to the strategy
• Manage the Risk and security deliverables for the infrastructure disciplines covering Cyber Security,
• Governance, Compliance, Risk and audit requirements to achieve a low risk and secure infrastructure platform
• Manage the asset lifecycle of infrastructure platforms in the group including the Infrastructure Billing and allocation
• Build and continuously develop a strong multi-disciplined team
