Head of Internal Audit

An established financial services company is looking for an experienced individual to head its internal audit department that spreads through operations within other African countries.

The prosperous candidate will be required to bring systematic and disciplined approaches to assess and enhance the institutions’ internal control and risk/governance processes focusing with a key focus on AML. Assertiveness, planning and organization are essential, in addition to a high-quality work ethic and excellent communication skills.

Duties:

• Stakeholder engagement
• Draft and deliver annual internal audit plans
• Attend committee meetings
• Conduct reviews and draft action plans
• Improve institutions operations
• Auditing internal controls and governance/compliance
• Reviewing and mitigating potential risks

Qualifications:

• Honours in Internal Auditing/Fin. Acc/Risk Management
• IIA qualification and membership
• CIA (non-negotiable)
• CISA/CRMA/CFSA/CA(SA)/CIMA/CQA – advantageous

Experience:

• Min. 9 years Internal Audit experience, 5 years at managerial level
• Understanding insurance and unsecured lending industry
• TeamMate/IDEA/ACL
