JOB DESCRIPTION:

A mining company in the North of Johannesburg is looking for an Head of Internal Audit. This is an environment that works together, value employee’s inputs and respect relationships with all stakeholders. You will also be joining a team of leader’s, leaders who are dynamic and visionaries.

Duties:

To provide strategic leadership and lead the Internal Audit team.
Ensure an enabling culture
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (Board, Audit & Risk Committee, Executives)
Develop and implement Internal Audit strategic and operational audit plans
Provide overall leadership in the execution of the annual risk based internal audit plan
To plan, organise and execute internal audit activities to fulï¬l Internal Audit objectives
Make strategic recommendations on the systems, controls and procedures reviewed
Report the audit ï¬ndings and recommendations to the Audit & Risk and Management

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or Auditing
Certiï¬ed Internal Auditor (CIA) / CISA or CA(SA)

Experience:

10 years’ relevant experience in Internal/ External Audit,
4 years’ Managerial Experience is a MUST!
Mining / Oil and Gas / Construction / Engineering Industry exposure would be a WIN!
SAP Experience

Skills & Competencies:

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Internal Audit function
To prepare and present concise oral and written reports
Generally accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
