Based in Centurion, this large Investment/Financial Services company is looking for an innovative and adaptive individual to appoint as the Head of Microenterprise.

POSITION INFO:

Based in Centurion, this large Investment/Financial Services company is looking for an innovative and adaptive individual to appoint as the Head of Microenterprise. If you are the right person, please apply!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Honours degree in Accounting with completed articles, Master of Commerce (MCom) relevant degree, and/or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree  
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience of Development Finance at senior and/or managerial level
  • Previous working experience in the business development and financing functions of Small, Medium and Microenterprises (SMMEs)
  • Positive ‘track-record’ reflecting previous working experience of due diligence, deal structuring, transaction proposals, and portfolio reporting functions and processes
  • Working knowledge and experience involving contemporary local and national government policies and strategies affecting Small, Medium, and Microenterprises (SMMEs) operating in South Africa is required/non-negotiable
  • Proficiency in multiple official South African languages is highly advantageous 

Job description & Skills:

  • Develop and establish financial and non-financial programmes and/or intervention strategies that support the growth of informal sector microenterprises
  • Review the relevant strategies of the various departments and business units in accordance with the mandate and corporate plan of the company
  • Facilitate the continuous development of new products and the maintenance of a well balance portfolio mix with a strong customer focus that is in accordance with client objectives
  • Main knowledge pertaining to established and contemporary finance business models relevant to the South African informal sector and provided analyses and assessments that maintain a clear understanding consistent with Development Finance objectives regarding the implications of the factors of influence, internal and external environmental conditions and/or foreseeable outcomes associated with the implementation of respective design strategies and intervention affecting intermediaries
  • Facilitate due diligence activities and processes in accordance with the mandate, corporate plan, and the informal sector relevant and/or contemporary government policies required for desktop application readiness within the appropriate and designated time frames
  • Provide business advice, recommend strategic interventions, and facilitate decision making that increases the prospects of success pertaining to the respective associates and/or clients that, of which ultimately increase the subsequent prospects of client retention
  • Oversee the completion, legislative and policy compliance, and strategic implementation according to the processes, policies, and procedures to ensure the maintenance and achievement of desired due diligence outcomes
  • Develop and establish roles, responsibilities and/or competencies that support and are congruent with the achievement of the company mandate and that are in accordance with executive management and stakeholder input on human resource requirements of the corporate plan
  • Ensure that all roles, responsibilities and/or competencies correspond ending appropriately competent individuals as stipulated by will support the successful completion of the processes, policies, and procedures that roles and responsibilities within are determined and assigned
  • Facilitate staff development and training
